Bug Lab is a travelling exhibition that transports guests into the secret world of bugs to learn of their genius. Visitors encounter large-scale, ultra-realistic bugs posed in uniquely themed chambers which display their extraordinary adaptive abilities.
Marketing collateral appealed to families and millennials by showcasing an immersive, interactive experience in which guests can discover and explore together. As this insect world was partly inspired by sci-fi movies and pop culture, a cinematic hero image designed by creative partner Wētā Workshop was adapted to translate cohesively across media touch-points.
In addition, a comprehensive guide to the use and application of marketing assets was created for external promoters and exhibition venues. This kit included an exhibition identity guide, templates, activation assets, and detailed explanation with images of the marketing in-situ.
Bug Lab continues to tour around the world, having crept into three museums and a zoo since its Wellington debut in 2016.
