Deliverables: Small brand identity, conceptual development of event graphics
The Point will guide attendees through the complexities and uncertainties faced by the sector. The Point will encourage attendees to consider what matters now, and what will matter in the future.
For The Point 2024, Māori navigation methods and Te Moana-Nui-a-Kiwa served as the inspiration. Guiding people through complexity requires skill, intuition, and adaptability. Māori navigators utilised their profound understandings of natural phenomena like stars, currents, winds, and other environmental cues.

Knowledge of tidal behaviour was crucial in planning voyages. Tides determine optimal departure times, and affect safe passage across open seas. Understanding tidal currents and their interaction with coastal features helped Māori harness the natural forces of the ocean to propel their waka efficiently.
The angular lines and intersecting shapes are inspired by patterns in Māori fibre arts. This identity mimics the rhythmic movement of waves and tides as well as reflections and refractions caused by light hitting the Moana's surface.
Like Māori navigators, effective leaders remain flexible and adaptable in response to evolving circumstances, ready to pivot or recalibrate their approach to achieve objectives.
